Still Oct 28- Amazing Piahia

We arrived in Piahia late afternoon. Looked at rooms on the beach, they were small, expensive and noisy. A wee bit out of town and we came to this lovely little place that was not only affordable but oh so peaceful.
Our rooms were in the low building on the left and this is what I woke up too.
Pretty Huh? As I said it was late in the afternoon so we decided to go to the local store and buy some things to take along on the long  journey to the light house in the morning. Even a trip to the local store proved eventful LOL

Only in NZ. The young owner told me to feel free to take him (the horse) for a ride. What a beautiful , well kept animal. Both owned by young men.
After the shopping trip it was time for a little dinner before turning in for a long ride in the morning.
This is the inside of a Tall ship converted to a restaurant. The food was delicious .
This is taken from the shore of Piahia . Seems like no matter where I look, I see beauty. Piahia itself is an artsy kind of tourist town.
I just loved this bench. Wouldn't it make a cute anniversary bench? Those adorable fish seem to think so.
So tomorrow (Oct 29) we will head to the light house. Not only is it the Northern end of NZ it is also steeped in history and Maori legend , so stay tuned.

  1. How cool...Everything is so beautiful, no wonder a lot of movies are filmed in NZ. Happy Anniversary....
